Personally, I’d rather be feasting on my beloved roti prata, chicken rice, laksa and sambal stingray… but starting this week, Wendy’s cheeseburgers will join Singapore’s diverse food scene. American fast food is increasingly popular in Asia, and Singaporeans often go to air-conditioned places like McDonald’s to hang out or study. I guess you could compare it to how Americans go to coffee shops to hang out. In fact, when I lived in Shanghai, I even found that Chinese people saw McDonald’s as a great place for a date! No wonder Wendy’s wants in on this great market opportunity.
Wendy’s opening in Singapore was even officially ushered in by cheerleaders from Nanyang Technology University, and the restaurant’s Singapore branch even has their own Facebook page!

it’s interesting how it transfers over like that. but what i’m surprised at is the fact that this is the first Wendy’s! but seriously, not missing much… i would also rather have laksa any day
